KMSKA HERstory
Reclaiming the 20th Century for Women Artists
Investing in forgotten masteresses. Together with the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA), we restore the place of female artists in 20th-century art, bringing their works back into museum collections and into the spotlight of public history.
HERstory is a cultural investment project developed by Rubey in close collaboration with Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMKSA). Curators from KMSKA and Rubey jointly select and acquire important artworks by female artists from the 20th century. Examples of artists under curatorial review can include (a.o.) Hilma af Klint, Georgia O’Keeffe, Louise Bourgeois, Yayoi Kusama and Marlene Dumas.
All acquired works will be placed on long-term loan at KMSKA, where millions of visitors can experience and rediscover their legacy. HERstory brings visibility, recognition and lasting cultural value to women who helped shape the art of the last century.
